Both entities embarked on an ambitious project of distributing 50 wheelchairs to 50 individuals with disabilities. The event took place at Shraddhanjali Kanan, RG Baruah Road, Guwahati, on Saturday.

Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, CMD of Pride East Entertainments Pvt Ltd., graced the event as chief guest. She commended the diverse activities and projects of Rotary Luit & Luit Trust, expressing admiration for Rotary International’s global humanitarian efforts. She conveyed her best wishes to the Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit for their future endeavours and assured her best possible support.

The chief guest personally handed over wheelchairs to the beneficiaries who had come from various places to collect them. It was heartwarming to see the smiling faces of the beneficiaries and their family members.

Speaking on the occasion, Rotary Luit president Amit Ajitsaria highlighted the Club and Trust’s regular organisation of free eye check-up camps in Guwahati and nearby rural areas, providing free cataract operations for the needy. Another significant focus is on renovating/building girls’ toilets in schools and improving school facilities under the ‘Happy School’ project. To date, five schools in Guwahati have been transformed into Happy Schools, equipped with new desks, benches, drinking water facilities, toilet blocks for male and female students, classroom painting, playground equipment, and libraries.
