NAGAON, Nov 27: The unit of NCC cadets of Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School observed the 75th NCC rising day with a day-long programme at the school premises on Sunday last here.
As part of the celebration of NCC rising day, the cadets from the school carried out a plantation drive and also conducted a cleanliness drive at the school campus in the morning session after unfurling the NCC flag by Basanta Kr Goswami, principal (i/c) of the school.
Meanwhile, the unit organised an open session where Basanta Kr Goswami as well as other senior teachers of the school participated. Saiful Islam, NCC officer and teacher of the school, mentored the session.
While addressing the occasion, Basanta Kr Goswami, principal of the school urged the NCC cadets of the institution to serve the nation with patriotic enthusiasm and extend their hands to make a strong nation in the days to come. He also appealed to the cadets to keep continuing physical exercises and other activities for maintaining good health and habits.
The programme was concluded with a cultural programme in the afternoon during which the NCC cadets of the school performed patriotic songs and dances as well as recitation of poems, a press note stated here.
