Annual function of Sur Sadhana Sangeet Mahavidyalaya held in Nagaon

NAGAON, March 24: The annual function of Sur Sadhana Sangeet Mahavidyalaya was held from March 21 to March 23, which witnessed the participation of over a hundred students in the event.

The inaugural ceremony was initiated by noted poet, writer, and critic Chidananda Dev Goswami, who lit the lamp to mark the beginning of the event.

Pradyut Mishra, prominent maestro of Indian Classical music attended the event as the chief guest.

The event was presided over by Nava Kumar Mahanta, the chairman of Sur Sadhana Sangeet Mahavidyalaya.

Chidananda Dev Goswami, in his speech, compared music to the rays of the sun, saying that just as the sun’s rays can awaken human minds, music can also captivate human hearts.

In his speech, Mishra emphasised that music is a form of sadhana (spiritual practice) that can help individuals conquer the world.

The event featured several classical music performances by artistes, including Sneha Mir’s Khayal, Kumar Datta’s Bhajan, and Kasturi Devi’s Ghazal.

The event also included a tabla recital by Kushal Das and Atul Mahanta.

The function was attended by several prominent citizens of Nagaon, including Joon Rajkhowa, Munindra Goswami, Debala Sarma, Jonmani Bora Chidananda Dev Goswami, Ranjan Bezbaruah, and over two hundred other guests.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the principal of Sur Sadhana Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Shuwagamoni Mahanta.

The event was a grand success, showcasing the talents of the students and faculty of the institution.
