NAGAON, June 1: Assam Forest Employees’ Association urged all the forest personnel including officials of the department concerned as well as other household to plant minimum a sapling at their respective home on the upcoming World Environment Day as the rapid global warming and climate change poses a threat to all living beings on the planet.
Humen Pegu and Rahul Bora, the president and secretary of the association respectively asserted in a press note here that the rapid industrialization, deforestation, mining and other activities of human being hit the balance of the world environment and poses a fatal threat to the existence of all the living beings on the planet.
Hence, the association initiated a statewide plantation drive to sustain the balance of environment of the state around, said in the same press note here.
