Assam: Government school teacher suspended for taking part in political rally in Chirang district

Chirang, May 1: A government institute teacher in Chirang district, Assam was suspended from duty on Wednesday for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), as confirmed by authorities.

Reports indicate that the teacher was involved in political campaigning activities for a party, which is a breach of the MCC. The incident occurred in Kajalgaon town, the district headquarters of Chirang district in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam.

The accused is an assistant teacher at No 2 Patabari Primary School. It was reported that the teacher participated in an election rally of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on April 3.
