AWU organises yoga camp for fitness of staff, students

JORHAT, May 24: A yoga camp was organised at Assam Women’s University (AWU) auditorium for the benefit of the students, teachers, officials and other employees of the university on Tuesday.
The two noted instructors of yoga Probin Kr. Goswami, founder principal, Jorhat Yoga Vigyan Mahavidyalaya and Chittaranjan Baruah, Kaya-Yogi, coordinator, Jorhat Yoga Vigyan Mahavidyalaya demonstrated yoga in the programme as resource persons.
Professor Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar, vice chancellor of Assam Women’s University while inaugurating the Yoga Camp deliberated upon the importance of all round development of the students and employees. She said that yoga can contribute a lot to improve the conditions of both body and mind.
Probin Kr. Goswami in his speech discussed the importance of yoga for the people in the present time. He also talked about the tradition and different techniques of yoga.
Chittaranjan Baruah encouraged the participants to make a habit to do yoga every day to keep themselves healthy.
All the students of the 15 departments, teachers and employees of Assam Women’s University participated in the yoga camp.
