Blood donation camp organised

GOSSAIGAON, Feb 21: The 31st Battalion SSB Gossaigaon, in collaboration with RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar, organised a blood donation camp at Battalion Headquarters unit Hospital Matiajuri in Gossaigaon on Wednesday last.

After the preliminary check-up, Chiranjib Bhattacharjee, commandant, and 41 other officers and officials voluntarily donated their precious blood, which can be used for lots of life-saving purposes.

Doctor Sujit Das, MBBS, along with his team from RNB Civil Hospital Kokrajhar, collected the blood.

Chiranjib Bhattacharjee, commandant, 31 Battalion SSB, Gossaigaon, after donating his blood, said that this blood will help meet many medical needs, providing a critical transfusion to someone who has been in an accident or restoring the strength of a cancer patient. Regular blood donation is linked to lower blood pressure and a lower risk of heart attacks.
