GUWAHATI, Sept 28: The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Government is hosting a two-day workshop titled “Green Bodoland Mission”, Reclaiming the Climate for a Resilient and Sustainable Future” on of September 30 and October1, 2024 at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar, BTR.
The event aims to raise awareness about climate change, promote conservation efforts, and encourage sustainable resource management, with a special focus on the involvement of women, youth, and students.
Key dignitaries, including Principal Secretary of BTC Akash Deep and BTC Chief Pramod Boro, will grace the occasion, alongside other distinguished guests. The workshop will cover crucial topics such as natural farming, climate-resilient agriculture, afforestation, clean and green village initiatives, green tourism, and the transition to net-zero emissions.
Notable experts like Dr Mrinal Saikia, Associate Director of Research at Assam Agricultural University, Utsow Pradhan, Founding Gardener of TIEEDI, and Dr Pankaj Bharali, Scientist from CSIR-NEIST, will share their knowledge and insights with the attendees.
The workshop will serve as a platform for meaningful discussions, focusing on how climate change is impacting life and livelihoods in the region. Participants will explore innovative strategies to reclaim and restore ecosystems while addressing the challenges of water resource management and sustainable tourism in Bodoland.
