Cachar Police’s massive success, Rs 9 crore worth of heroin seized in two arrested in separate ops

Cachar, May 5: In a significant effort to curb the illegal trafficking of narcotics, Cachar Police carried out two separate specialized operations on Sunday, targeting the areas of Dholai and Polarband in Lakhipur.

These operations resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of a considerable quantity of suspected heroin. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rajibul Islam Laskar from Jamalpur and Samim Hussain Laskar from Natun Dayapur.

It is reported that the police found 129 soap cases containing a substance suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 1.800 kilograms, in their possession. Furthermore, law enforcement seized a Bolero car with registration number AS 24 D/4620 and a motorcycle with registration number AS 11X/8210, believed to have been used in the transportation of the illicit substances.

According to authorities, the estimated street value of the seized narcotics amounts to approximately Rs 9.5 crores. Investigations have revealed that the contraband was illegally transported from Champai in Mizoram and Churachandpur district in Manipur.

This successful operation highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies in combatting drug trafficking in the region. Further investigations are currently underway to dismantle the network and bring all individuals involved in the illegal activities to justice.
