Guwahati June 25: Jorabat Police in Assam have made a crucial arrest in connection with the creation and distribution of counterfeit money, marking a significant development. Ziabur Rahman was apprehended in Lakhimpur as a result of the effective operation directed by police officer Kapil Pathak.
This arrest follows the detention of a smuggler on June 17, who was found to be in possession of a sizable quantity of counterfeit money.
Ziabur Rahman is currently being thoroughly interrogated by the Jorabat police to learn more about his involvement in illegal operations.
Jiyawur Rahman was previously apprehended with fake Indian rupee notes on June 17 in Jorabat, Assam. Jiyawur Rahman was reportedly found in possession of counterfeit currency totaling Rs. 24,50,000, including bundles of fake $500 bills, according to intelligence reports.
Rahman’s journey from the Laluk neighbourhood in the Lakhimpur district to Jorabat, where he was trying to convert the fake currency for real money, is thought to have led him into a police trap.
