DC urges swift implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Morigaon

MORIGAON, Aug 25: In a concerted effort to accelerate the execution of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Morigaon district, district commissioner Devashish Sharma convened a comprehensive review meeting at the district commissioner’s office. The meeting stressed on the urgency of expediting the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission across the district.

Devashish Sharma stressed the necessity for seamless coordination among the relevant departments and deemed it a shared responsibility to ensure the successful realisation of this scheme. He specifically directed the Public Health Technical department to undertake a well-defined action plan to guarantee access to clean water for every household. He underscored the importance of ensuring public convenience throughout the process.

Highlighting the significance of the Jal Jeevan Mission as a top-priority scheme, Devashish Sharma instructed the Public Health Technical department to provide progress updates every three days, and to present a detailed work plan within the next two days. He also emphasised strict adherence to regulations during the scheme’s implementation.

Devashish Sharma called for harmonious collaboration among various departments including Public Health Technical department, Public Works (Roads), Water Resources, Power department, Panchayat and Rural Development department, Public Works NH, BSNL, and other stakeholders.

The review meeting witnessed the participation of key figures including additional district Commissioner Dr Sangita Barthakur, assistant commissioner Mriganav Das, and heads of Public Health Technical department, Public Works (Roads), Water Resources, Power department, Panchayat and Rural Development department, Public Works NHs, BSNL, among others.
