DEMOW, July 29: The Demow Model Hospital CUM CHC which is situated at Demow Raichai Konwar Dehingia Gaon has achieved another success in snake bite treatment. The Demow Model Hospital CUM CHC has completed serving 1500 snake bite cases till July 27 (Since the year 2018). Snake bite cases came from various places to Demow Model Hospital cum CHC. Dr Surajit Giri, an anesthesia specialist as well as snake bite specialist in Demow Model Hospital cum CHC informed this correspondent that in the year 2021, the Demow Model Hospital cum CHC registered 464 snake bite cases and in the year 2022 the Demow Model Hospital cum CHC has registered 573 snake bite cases.
According to health sources, in Viperidae: Pit Vipers with coagulopathy: 140 numbers, Colubridae: Red necked keelback: 15 numbers, Elapidae with neurotoxicity: 45 numbers, unidentified family: 9.
Out of 1500 snake bite cases, 209 cases were venomous and the rate is 13.93 %.
