MORIGAON, Sept 19: A sense of shock and disbelief gripped the residents of Morigaon as the lifeless body of a 25-year-old woman was discovered lying in a rented house on Monday night, raising suspicions and concerns throughout the district. The distressing incident unfolded at Ward no 2, located approximately 300 meters from the office of the superintendent of police (SP) in Morigaon.
The lifeless body of the woman was found within a rented residence in Pachtia Ward 2, situated within Morigaon town. Distressed relatives who entered the house were confronted with the unsettling sight of the deceased woman lying unclothed on the floor.
The victim was identified as Nikita Devi. Tragically, a one-month-old infant was also injured during the incident.
According to available information, the victim’s husband is employed as a security guard at the Morigaon Cinema Hall. He reported that the tragic incident occurred during his absence from home last night. In response, the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the case, aiming to unravel the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident.
