The meeting also discussed implementation of Nipun Axom Mission, Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) with all Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) and Block Resource Persons (BRP) and Block Mission Coordinators (BMC).

In Gunotsav, 2022, 11 schools got A+ grade, 120 schools got A grade, 331 in B grade, 326 in C grade and 320 in D grade in the district.

Organised by Sarba Siksha Abhijan (SSA), KAAC, the officials of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and Basic Training Centre (BTC) also participated in the review meeting.

The EM expressed his appreciation to the schools that got A+ grade and asked them to keep up with the same spirit in creating an educational atmosphere. To the schools that have failed to get A+ grade, the EM has asked them to perform better next time.

In his speech, Tokbi said that the government is giving salaries to teachers not to sit at home, but to go to schools and teach the students.

“There are reports that in some schools teachers go to schools late and close the school early. For them there is no excuse and a show cause notice or suspension will be given. We are trying to make the foundation level i.e., the primary level strong for development of human resource,” the EM said.

He said that some teachers having an understanding with the headmaster or principal take leave on their will, which is against the rule in the education system. “No teachers should take advantage of situations. Education is a challenging task and together we can achieve quality education,” Tokbi said.

During the review meeting teachers shared their views and experiences on getting A+ grade and the problems they have been facing.

Pub Gojalipar LP School, Howgraghat is one school that got A+ grade consecutively for three Gunotsav in 2017, 2018 and 2022.

The Headmistress of the school, Dipali Hazarika said that parents-teachers meeting should be held regularly.

Another school, Balijan D/C LP School, Chowkihola got A+ grade and the headmistress Rina Tissopi said, “My school has a single teacher as the TET appointed teachers due to distance from the school are not regular.”

Bithilangso LP School, Borpung is one of the most remote schools in the district. The area is still not connected with motorable roads, no electricity connection and no mobile networks.

Despite such odds the school got A+ grade in Gunotsav 2022. The headmaster Rajendra Terang said the SMC were very much cooperative.

The CRCC, Borpung, James Kumar said due to lack of communication, mobile network and electricity, it is very difficult to communicate with the teachers. “Most of the time the CRCC themselves have to go to the schools to meet teachers,” Kumar added.

On the other hand the headmaster of Rongagora LP School, Netro Kamal Saikia said his school is with a single teacher. His school secured D grade in Gunotsav, 2022.
