Emphasis on progress of various developmental activities in the district

TEZPUR, Jan 9: The DDC meeting of Sonitpur District for the current month was held on Thursday to review the actions taken by various departments based on the directions of Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, during his review meeting with district officials on December 28 last.

DC, Ankur Bharali reviewed the progress of FHTC coverage under Har Ghar Jal, with the district commissioner directing the PHE department to conduct a proper assessment of the coverage.

He also addressed the issues related to teacher rationalisation, specifically the status of single-teacher and zero-teacher schools in the district, particularly in Bodo-medium schools.

Bharali urged officials to utilise Mission Basundhara 3.0 for processing office land records efficiently.

He emphasized the need to create awareness about the PM Fasal Bima Yojana and the importance of AADHAAR seeding for farmers.

Other agendas included NFSA cards, the progress of Model Anganwadi Centres, updates on PM Vishwakarma, the status of Asom Mala roads, and pending works under the PWD Building department.

Updates on Khel Maharan 2.0 and preparations for the Mega Jhumur event were also reviewed.

The district transport officer provided a brief update on the month-long programs including awareness and enforcement drives both on-going and those planned as part of the National Road Safety Month observed from January 1 to January 31 2025.

Additionally, discussions covered the Catch the Rain Campaign, and target achievements of the Excise and Tax departments.

Notably, the district commissioner also appealed to all Heads of Departments in the District Administration to actively participate in the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and become Ni-kshay Mitras, supporting TB patients in their fight against the disease.

The meeting was attended by district development commissioner Lakhinandan Saharia, additional district commissioners, heads of departments, and other concerned officials of the District Administration.
