GUWAHATI, Nov 22: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a financial grant of Rs 25,000 for the celebration of the Raas Festival in 3,000 locations. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the region.
CM Sarma shared the news on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Our commitment to preserving and promoting our culture is of utmost importance. Starting this year, we will provide a financial grant of Rs 25,000 to celebrate the Raas Festival in 3,000 locations. This initiative aims to support and encourage the celebration of this traditional festival across our region.”
The financial support is expected to contribute to the vibrant and widespread celebration of the Raas Festival, fostering cultural richness and community engagement in the state.
