Guwahati, July 3: In a significant development, the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati has introduced a new initiative to provide affordable and comfortable bus rides for passengers traveling to and from the airport. The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has set up a dedicated counter at the airport, offering air-conditioned buses that connect the airport with Khanapara and Paltan Bazaar for a nominal fare of Rs 100.

Recognising the airport’s role as a gateway to North East India, the collaboration between Guwahati Airport and ASTC aims to enhance the travel experience of passengers. The ASTC buses have been equipped to ensure a comfortable journey, and this initiative is expected to reduce transportation costs while providing a cost-effective alternative to private modes of transport. While primarily serving airport passengers, the bus service will also benefit local commuters.

Guwahati Airport remains committed to prioritising passenger safety and comfort, extending its services beyond the airport premises. The ASTC buses will adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations, guaranteeing a reliable and enjoyable travel experience. With scheduled services at regular intervals, passengers will have the convenience of planning their journeys more efficiently. The success of this venture depends on the active participation of travellers, and Guwahati Airport anticipates a positive response from those eager to take advantage of this new service.
