TEZPUR, May 6: The Indian Army conducted a Agniveer pre-recruitment screening camp for youths of the Adivasi community at Rangapara army cantonment in Sonitpur district on Monday.
The initiative was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Aadhunik India Foundation. The special screening camp aimed to train and empower the Adivasi youths of Sonitpur and nearby districts of the state to prepare them for physical, medical, and written tests for their smooth absorption in the armed forces as Agniveers.
Nearly 1200 youths, including girls from different tea gardens of Sonitpur and nearby districts participated in the Agniveer awareness programme, which was organised by a training team of the Indian Army. This was followed by filling of forms, preliminary pre-enrolment screening as per physical standards and ground tests, thereby creating a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere among the participants and motivating them in their preparation and transformation from raw youth to soldiers. The commanding officer of the Rangapara army cantonment, motivated the youths during an interaction.
The training team briefed and addressed the aspirants on Agniveer recruitment procedure including academics, physical and medical standards, CEE syllabus and physical exam. On this occasion, national president of Aadhunik India Foundation, DK Chauhan also encouraged all the Adivasi youths and those from the tea garden community to join the Indian Army.
