MORIGAON, Jan 25: The 19th biennial session of the Morigaon District Journalists Association was held at the office of the association in Morigaon town on Saturday.
The programme was inaugurated by the president of the Association Birinchi Kumar Sharma by hoisting the flag in the morning. Afterwards, the memorial service was conducted by Advisor Upen Chandra Deka. The session was held in the morning.

The meeting was chaired by the president Birinchi Kumar Sharma and it was inaugurated by senior journalist  Mahendra Nath Hazarika. He said the Morigaon District Journalists Association should play a major role in uniting the journalists of the district. He urged every journalist to maintain the sanctity of the journalistic profession by presenting news with honesty and impartiality.

The meeting was attended by the secretary Jitumani Nath. The association read out the income and expenditure report of the association. The meeting discussed in detail the amendment of the constitution, organisational etc. and adopted a number of important resolutions.

The meeting elected senior journalist Ajit Sharma as president, Kalpataru Chowdhury as vice-president, Gulzarilal Sharma as secretary, Jun  Farid Yunis as assistant secretary, Manas Kumar Nath as treasurer, Bharat Chandra Nath as journal  secretary and Achyut Kumar Nath as office secretary The new Executive Committee determined to work together in their reign.
