Karbi Anglong Garo Union founder president passes away

DONGKAMUKAM, Feb 14: Hriday Marak the founder president of the Karbi Anglong Garo Union (KAGU) passed away in the wee hours of Friday morning at 3.35 am after prolonged illness at his residence at Satgaon West Karbi Anglong.

Born in the year on Oct 10, 1934 he was popular social worker among all communities.

He was also donated land for the Garo Cultural Hall at Satgaon and Garo Union ME School Rengthama.

Marak had a pioneer role in establishing both Satgaon Assamese LP, ME school and Satgaon English LP, ME School.

He left behind his wife several children and grand children.

The funeral service was held in the evening by Fr Brightinson Terang of CNI Mondolis priest in presence of Fr Subhash Danggo, Fr Albert Thyrniang Parish Priest of Satgaon,

Fr Justin Chinaparaj, Sr Superior Mary Hasda, Rev Pitison Marak, KAGU president Martin Marak among others.
