Left lane of Silchar-Hailakandi road to close temporarily

GUWAHATI, Nov 29: In an important announcement for commuters, the executive engineer of PWRD has informed that the left-hand side lane of the Silchar-Hailakandi Road, between CR Avenue point and Shani Mandir, will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. The closure is necessitated to facilitate the construction of a 4m x 4m RCC Box Cell Culvert at the site.

The traffic restriction will come into effect on December 3, 2024, and will remain in place until December 31, 2024. During this period, vehicles traveling in both directions will be rerouted to use the alternate lane at the location.

Commuters are requested to plan their journeys accordingly and exercise patience while navigating through the area. The inconvenience caused during this critical infrastructure upgrade is deeply regretted.

This was stated in a press release issued by the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar.
