Lightning strike claims life of woman, injures two others in Demow

DEMOW, July 26: A tragic incident occurred in Nahat Deodubi near Demow in Pathar, where a lightning strike claimed the life of a woman and left two others injured on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Mamoni Khamti, a resident of Borguri Mising Gaon near Demow. The incident took place while Mamoni Khamti and two other women were planting shrubs in the Deodubi Pathar.

The two injured women have been identified as Tina Khamti and Champawati Khamti, both from Borguri Mising Gaon near Demow. They were promptly taken to Demow Model Hospital for medical treatment.

Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, Mamoni Khamti. He shared his deep sympathy and support during this difficult time.

The tragic incident has left the community in grief, and authorities are investigating the matter to prevent such incidents in the future.
