GUWAHATI, Jan 24: Matri Bharati, Girl’s Education and Shishu Batika initiatives of Vidya Bharati Purvottar Khetra are going to organise a Matri Sanmilan (Mother’s Convention) on January 31.

This significant event will see the participation of mothers of students studying at Shankar Dev Shishu/Vidya Niketan schools associated with Vidya Bharati’s Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan. In addition, 5,000 mothers from the Northern Assam region are expected to take part.

The event will highlight important topics such as Matri Bharati, Girl’s Education, Shishu Batika, and exhibitions. As a special tribute, discussions will focus on the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, honoring her legacy and contributions.

The convention will commence at 10 AM, at Sarusajai Stadium with Nandita Garlosa, minister of youth and sports, Assam, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. Other prominent attendees include Dasanglu Pul, minister of women and child development, Arunachal Pradesh; Jatindra Sharma, Akhil Bharatiya co-organisation secretary, Vidya Bharati; Rimki Bhagawati, Prant Karyavahika of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti; and Sunita Haldekar, Akhil Bharatiya Co-Karyavahika of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, as distinguished guests.

Over 5,000 mothers have already been invited to this grand event. According to Mukuteshwar Goswami, Publicity Secretary of Shishu Shiksha Samiti Assam, preparations at the Sarusajai Stadium are now complete.

Aligned with the Samutkarsh Mahashivir, the Vidya Bharati Matri Convention Organizing Committee coordinators—Kalyani Thakuriya, Joram Aniya, Anima Sharma, and Bornali Devi—have extended invitations to mothers from distant locations to attend this remarkable event.
