Meeting of senior citizens held at Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 25: The monthly meeting of the Biswanath Chariali chapter of the Senior Citizen Forum was held on Thursday at its office in Biswanath Chariali.

The objectives of the meeting were explained by Bhupen Hazarika, secretary of the forum. A panel discussion on the topic ‘Social decay and the role of the senior citizen’ was held on the occasion.

Chinta Mani Sharma, principal of the Biswanath College highlighted vivid details of the causes leadingto social decay and requested the Senior Citizens’ Forum to adopt some innovative measures to repair the ongoing social decay and growing irresponsibility’ of modern people towards society.

The programme was also addressed by Jogen Chandra Sarma, advisor, Labanya Bora Hazarika, Renu Bora, Jiten Bhagawati, Khemraj Nepal and Kamal Chandra Bhuyan among others.
