DIPHU, April 9: The district commissioner’s office, in the presence of central observers Jaydip Mukhopadhay, IAS as the general observer; Shankar Lal Verma, IRS as the expenditure observer; and T Uniel Kichu Ao, IPS as the police observer, along with the district election officer and representatives from various political parties, scrutinised the nomination papers.
This transparent process ensured the thorough examination of all submitted documents, upholding the integrity of the electoral process. With the scrutiny now concluded, the stage is set for the next phase of the electoral journey. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature was set for April 8. Following this, the remaining candidates will proceed to compete fiercely in the forthcoming election. As we navigate through this democratic exercise, it emphasises the importance of active citizen participation and adherence to electoral norms, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process and contributing to the strengthening of our democratic fabric.
