GUWAHATI, July 10: Pranab Jyoti Rava, a talented artist from Assam, has been awarded the prestigious Young Artist Scholarship for puppet dance by the ministry of Culture, government of India. This scholarship recognises Pranab’s dedication and skills in the art form, which is on the verge of extinction in Assam.
Pranab Jyoti Rava is currently undergoing training under the guidance of Binita Devi, a renowned artist and National Tag Research Scholar from the ministry of Culture, government of India. He is also receiving training in film acting and puppet dance at the Surjit Academy for a period of two years.
Pranab has showcased his talent in numerous national-level cultural programs organised by the government of Assam and India under the mentorship of Binita Devi. Additionally, he has directed and acted in several short films as part of his training at the Surjit Academy.
Hailing from the Assam Engineering College campus, Pranab Jyoti Rava is the eldest son of Hitesh Chandra Rava and Lalita Rava. His artistic journey and recognition through the Young Artist Scholarship highlight his passion, dedication, and contribution to reviving and preserving the traditional folk art of Assam.
