Prominent social worker Bijoy Lama passes away at 60

Margherita, July 28: Bijoy Lama, a renowned social worker of Margherita, and a beloved teacher at Baruah Grant LP School in Makumqilla, breathed his last on Friday night due to a stroke at his residence in Makumqilla, Margherita, under Tinsukia district.

Bijoy Lama’s contribution to various social causes in Margherita earned him immense respect from all sections of society, transcending barriers of caste, creed, race, language, and religion.

His passing is deeply mourned by several organisations in the region, including Margherita Journalists Association, Makumqilla Yuvak Sangha, Children’s Friends Club (NGO) Margherita, Tamang Sahitya Sabha Central Committee, Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha Margherita District Committee, and many others.

Bijoy Lama is survived by his two sons, one daughter, grandsons, granddaughter, and a large number of relatives.
