DIPHU, Aug 18: The District Transport Department, in collaboration with the District Press Club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA), took a proactive step towards enhancing road safety awareness among school students. An integrated road safety awareness program was conducted at Diphu Government Boys Higher Secondary School on Friday, targeting students of Class-XI and Class-XII.

District transport officer, Bikram Aditya Gogoi, delivered an insightful talk on road safety during the program. Gogoi emphasised the significance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, which are established by the government for the safety of all citizens. He stressed that violations come with consequences, either in the form of fines or legal repercussions.

Gogoi further elucidated the importance of recognising various traffic signs and symbols, ensuring that students have a clear understanding of road safety practices.

DTO Gogoi highlighted, “We have conducted a road safety awareness program for students in higher secondary and colleges. This initiative, under the Integrated Education Campaign on Road Safety, aims to raise awareness about road safety and prevent accidents. The program will be extended to all educational institutions.”
