Sankardev Abirbhab Mahotsav celebrated in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, Oct 16: The 576th Abirbhab Mahotsav of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev was celebrated by Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Sivasagar, on Tuesday. The day began with the Seva Bahini conducting a cleanliness drive, followed by the hoisting of the flag. A Bhagwat procession saw the participation of a large number of devotees and mothers from various communities and primary units of the Sangha.

The event featured a meeting where Dr Ranjit Kumar Barua, a prominent painter and sculptor from Jorhat, delivered a speech on the ‘Brindawani Bastra’. The memorial book ‘Shankar Ranjai’ by Achyut Krishna Nath was released by Dr Rajen Barua, who also unveiled his own book, ‘Bhakti Darshan’. The evening concluded with a performance of the play ‘Parijat Haran’, depicting the Guru’s teachings.
