GUWAHATI, Nov 6: Pijush Hazarika, parliamentary affairs; water resources, information & public relations minister in Assam, disclosed in a public rally at Tangla constituency that the BJP-led state government is set to introduce 40,000 government jobs over the remaining two and a half years of its tenure.
Emphasizing the commitment to the state’s youth, Hazarika assured that the government, under the leadership of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has remained steadfast in fulfilling its promise to offer jobs to 87,000 youths in Assam. He reiterated the government’s dedication to providing these opportunities devoid of corruption or bribery incidents.
Addressing other government initiatives, Hazarika highlighted that approximately 27 lakh families have become beneficiaries of the Orunodoi scheme. He further announced the government’s aim to enroll more families into the Orunodoi scheme within the next two years.
Regarding financial support, the minister mentioned that the government has already waived microfinance loans worth Rs 2000 crore. Additionally, Hazarika outlined plans under the Aatmanirbhar scheme, intending to extend loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to 5 lakhs to approximately 1 lakh unemployed youths, empowering them to become entrepreneurs and self-reliant.
Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Hazarika affirmed the provision of health insurance coverage up to Rs 5 lakh for beneficiaries. He also underscored the government’s accomplishment of augmenting the number of medical colleges in Assam from six, during the Congress regime, to the current count of 12.
In terms of infrastructure development, Hazarika outlined plans to initiate the much-anticipated ring road in Guwahati, stressing its potential benefits for the people of Udalguri and surrounding regions. Additionally, he reiterated the government’s strategic focus on enhancing road connectivity in the BTR region.
