GUWAHATI, Dec 10: The Tax Bar Association, in partnership with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Guwahati Chapter, successfully hosted a pivotal seminar focused on Income Tax and GST at The Ornate Hotel in city’s Ulubari area, an official statement said on Tuesday.
The seminar kicked off with an engaging welcome address from CA Gopal Singhania, Secretary of the Tax Bar Association. Advocate Dinesh Kumar Sharma, president of the Association, underscored the relevance of the seminar’s topics, while CMA Rupom Sharma, chairman of the Guwahati Chapter of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, also warmly welcomed the attendees.
The first technical session featured CA Bikash Agarwala, who captivated the audience with a comprehensive overview of the amendments to GST Annual Returns for the year 2023-24, delivering invaluable insights into these critical changes.
In the second technical session, CA Anil Kumar Agarwala elaborated on the significant amendments introduced in Income Tax Laws by the Union Budget 2024. He further clarified the provisions regarding the Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Scheme 2024, enhanced by a dynamic PowerPoint presentation.
Both speakers delivered exceptional insights that resonated with the approximately 80 professionals and businessmen from across the North East region in attendance. The interactive format encouraged delegates to raise thoughtful queries, which the speakers addressed with clarity and expertise.
The seminar culminated with a formal vote of thanks from CA Gopal Singhania, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all delegates for their involvement, which made the event a resounding success.
