TEZPUR, Nov 12: The department of Physics at Tezpur University commenced the 14th Biennial Conference of the Physics Academy of the North-East (PANE-2024) on Tuesday. The two-day prestigious academic event brought together renowned physicists, researchers, and students from across the region and beyond to delve into the latest advancements and cutting-edge research in the field of physics. The Physics Academy of the Northeast is the largest science academy in Northeast India and one of the oldest academies in the region.
Prof Dhruba J Saikia, former vice chancellor of Cotton College State University and currently a professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Prof N Nimai Singh, president of PANE, Prof DS Kulshrestha, a noted theoretical physicist, and Dr Samrat Dey, secretary of PANE, Pragjyotish College, were present on the occasion.
