The release ceremony, held on campus, was attended by a distinguished gathering of researchers, academicians, local college principals, and university administrators.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Shambhu Nath Singh presided over the event, reaffirming the university’s dedication to promoting interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education and research—an effort that has intensified with the adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

He noted that the creation of the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in 2020 and the recently established School of Multidisciplinary Studies are key milestones in advancing this mission.

Launched in January 2025, MRJ has already secured indexing in several international academic databases and has been assigned an ISSN (3049-2718).

Editor-in-Chief Professor Debendra Chandra Baruah credited the editorial board, contributors, and peer reviewers for maintaining high academic standards and ensuring the timely publication of the journal.

Notably, MRJ is the first publication of its kind in the Northeast region, bringing together research from diverse fields including Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Business and Commerce.

The journal emphasises the integration of basic and applied research to address contemporary societal challenges and support evidence-based policy and practice.

The current issue features 24 articles authored by 74 contributors from more than 25 national and international institutions.
