DIPHU, Nov. 15: In line with the nationwide launch of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra by Prime Minister
Narandra Modi at Khunti in Jharkhand, HAD minister, Jogen Mohan in the presence of Chief Executive
Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang and others was also
launched the yatra in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong on Wednesday.
Launching the campaign at Manja, Lumbajong block development premises in Karbi Anglong, HAD
minister said Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is an initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise
awareness about the central government’s flagship schemes implemented in rural and urban areas
through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes.
Mohan said, “The central government has introduced several flagship schemes, which provide basic
amenities like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, access to LPG connections, housing for the
poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, quality education and
many more. This campaign will reach every nook and corner of the country to access information to the
people about the welfare schemes of the central government.”
The Minister also flagged off an information, education and communication (IEC) van to tour Karbi
Anglong and inform the people about the welfare schemes of the central government. The campaign to
reach out to beneficiaries of the Centre’s flagship programmes will culminate on January 25 next year,
the minister informed.
Earlier, the CEM in his speech highlighted the various central government schemes implemented in
Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Safe drinking water facilities under Jal Jivan Mission, issuing of
health cards, providing subsidised food grains to BPL families, education facilities, financial support to
women and SHGs and many more are being implemented.
Principal secretary to the state government, Manish Thakur in his introductory speech mentioned the
aim and purpose of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra targeting eligible citizens, who have not yet benefited
from various central schemes. He asked the line department to work collectively for the maximum reach
of government schemes to the masses.
MLAs, Darsing Ronghang and Bidyasing Engleng; District Commissioner, Karbi Anglong, Madhumita
Bagawati were also present.

Along with rest of the state, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was organised at the South Kashibari
playground under Haloadal VCDC in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.
The day-long event was organised in connection with the observation of the birth anniversary of the
valiant freedom fighter,Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The Kokrajhar district administration organized the
programme to highlight the need for sustainable development of all vulnerable tribal communities
across the country.
Chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro inaugurated the yatra
amidst the presence of Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma and MLA Lawrence Islary.
Remarkably, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has given the clarion call of a “Viksit Bharat”-a
developed India mission across the nation, and accordingly the NDA government at the centre is
rendering services for all round development of the citizens.
CEM Pramod Boro said, “The Viksit Bharat Sankalpa Yatra has been organised today to recall the
contributions and dedication of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The day is being celebrated
across the country.”
