GUWAHATI, May 6: Gauhati University has been organising a special workshop called X-RAYDIATE Materials Characterisation Workshop on May 7 and 8 at its Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF). The event will focus on modern techniques used to study and test materials like silicon, diamond, quartz, metals and more.
The workshop is being held in partnership with Malvern Panalytical, a leading company in scientific instruments. It will explore powerful tools like X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), which help scientists understand the inner structure and elements of different materials.
The event will be inaugurated by Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University. Experts like Dr Mangesh Mahajan, Mr Brijendra Srivastava and Mr Jitendra Kumar from Malvern Panalytical will share insights on how these tools are used in real-life industries and research.
A key moment of the event will be the launch of the SDCOM Desktop XRD, a compact and fast machine that can study materials in just 10 seconds, ideal for both research labs and industries.
This two-day workshop will include both theory and hands-on training, helping students, researchers, and professionals learn how to use these advanced technologies in practical ways.
