Guwahati, April 28: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, authorities in Khanapara have seized heroin worth an estimated Rs 12 crore.
The narcotics were intercepted while being transported from Tripura to Guwahati. A Special Task Force (STF) team apprehended two individuals, Jamal Ali and Salimuddin of Goraimari, who were found with approximately one and a half kilograms of heroin.
The contraband was hidden in a Wagonr vehicle with registration AS 01 FN 7633. The operation was led by Inspector General of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Pathak.
