GUWAHATI, Oct 20: The traditional dance forms of Dandiya and Garba, associated with the nine-day Navratri festival, have taken center stage in Guwahati. These vibrant dance performances are being organized by the NGO Rotary Club of Guwahati Smart City at Sonaram Field in Guwahati, continuing until October 24. The Garba Utsav event, spanning six days, features the participation of several Bollywood celebrities.

Project Convenor Ravi Agarwalla revealed that renowned Bollywood artists, popular bands, and playback singers are gracing the stage at Sonaram Field during Navratri. The event has already seen high-energy performances by ‘SUBHARAM’ The Band, playback singer Priya Bhattacharya, Sahaj Ghosal, and actors Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, and Aayushi Jaiswal from web series. Upcoming performances include Bollywood actors Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnarjee, and more.

Project Chairman Binay Didwania emphasized that the event is organized as a fundraising initiative by the Rotary Club of Guwahati Smart City to support various social activities for those in need and underprivileged individuals, which they have been engaged in throughout the year. They are receiving support from various organizations, including the Rotaract Club of Rongali Guwahati, Maheswari Yuva Sangh, Aura Entertainment, and other NGOs. Additionally, they are collaborating with the District Administration, Guwahati Police, media, and government departments and agencies.

Agarwalla extended an invitation to the public, stating, “We are overwhelmed with the response you have been giving us, which makes us more excited to bring a grander Dandiya Raas for you. So, what are you waiting for? The dandiya sticks are waiting for their beautiful and handsome dancers on the dance floor.”
