Protest Held Against Illegal Land Grabbing In Bokajan

BOKAJAN, Nov 28: All India Karbi Students Union (AIKSU) and Lahorijan Tea Estate Workers Union (LTEWU) held a protest in Lahorijan against the alleged land grabbing which belongs to Lahorijan Tea Estate by one Abdul Qayum Talukdar, an alleged land grabber.

The Lahorijan Tea Estate is at Assam, Karbi Anglong and Nagaland border.

Led by president of LTEWU, Dominic Kindo and supported by AIKSU more than a hundred protesters gathered at Lahorijan to protest. The protesters were shouting slogans of ‘Abdul Qayum Talukdar Go Back’, ‘Arrest Abdul Qayum’, ‘Abdul Qayum Talukdar Murdabad’ and ‘We want Justice’.

President of AIKSU, Estarson Tisso said Abdul Qayum Talukdar is a land grabber and accused him of grabbing land in other places as well.

The protestor further demanded the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Land & Revenue Department to look into the matter and take him out of the Karbi Anglong.
