Governor Ganesan lauds Nagaland police officers for their commitment to excellence

DIMAPUR, Nov 14: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Thursday lauded Nagaland police officers for their commitment to excellence in both their professional responsibilities and athletic pursuits.

Ganesan was addressing the inaugural programme of the 40th Nagaland police duty-cum-sports meet 2024 at Chumukedima police complex. He said that the event is seen as an opportunity to highlight values crucial to law enforcement, including integrity, teamwork, and resilience.

Ganesan said the Nagaland police meet not only tests physical abilities but also aims to strengthen camaraderie, unity, and share the joy of police personnel beyond the daily demands of duty.

He acknowledged the essential balance between duty and recreation, emphasising how these sporting events contribute to the holistic development of the officers.

The governor also paid tributes to the families and loved ones of the police personnel, whose support is vital to the officers’ strength and dedication.

Saying that the sacrifices made by families are recognised as the foundation of a strong and humane police force, he said the event is expected to foster lasting bonds among police units, creating memories and experiences that transcend the competitive arena.

As the competitions unfold, Ganesan hoped that the participants would return with a renewed sense of purpose and stronger bonds within the police community.

In his address, DGP Robin Sharma said: “This annual event is not just about competition. It is a celebration of the courage, strength, and dedication that each member of the Nagaland police brings to their duty.”

The duty-cum-sports meet, a much-anticipated event in the Nagaland Police calendar, includes a variety of athletic events such as track and field, volleyball, and team-building activities.
