Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya interacts with National Integration Tour Contingent

GUWAHATI, Feb 15: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Saturday interacted with a contingent of 30 girl students from Arunachal University, Namsai, at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati. The students were part of the National Integration Tour organised by the Assam Rifles.

During the interaction, Governor Acharya acknowledged the importance of such tours as he said that the lessons learnt from such tours can be directed towards nation building.  He reiterated the philosophy of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” and the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat to foster unity and harmony across the nation.

Speaking on unity in diversity and the position of India that embellishes this unity, Acharya highlighted the importance of respecting its diverse culture and languages. He at the same time asked the students to embrace and learn local languages to better understand and connect with different communities. “We are all one,” he remarked, stressing the importance of national cohesion.

The Governor further advised the youth to focus on their education with hard work, determination, and discipline. He encouraged them to read books of great personalities to draw inspiration from their life stories. “Aim high and work tirelessly to achieve your dreams,” he urged the students.

Acharya also commended the Assam Rifles for organising the National Integration Tour. He noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in instilling patriotism and unity among the youth. The tour was organized by the 11 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 25 Sector Assam Rifles/HQ IGAR (N).
