DIPHU, June 4: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Karbi Anglong, will organize the National Lok Adalat on June 14, from 10:00 am onwards at two venues — the District Judiciary Campus in Diphu and the SDJM Court Campus in Bokajan.
The Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of compoundable pending cases, including civil disputes, matrimonial matters, and pre-litigation cases involving banks, APDCL, BSNL, and other public service entities. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to promote amicable settlements and reduce the burden of litigation through alternative dispute resolution.
The DLSA has urged litigants and concerned parties who have received summons or notices related to eligible cases to appear on the scheduled date and take advantage of the opportunity to resolve their disputes mutually and amicably.
This public-friendly legal mechanism seeks to deliver speedy justice and reduce pendency in the courts, in line with the objectives of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
