DIPHU, June 10: The Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Nirola Phangchopi, announced the launch of a 15-day Abha Abhijan awareness campaign across various development blocks of the district. The campaign will run from June 15 to 30, with the inaugural programme scheduled at Sikari Bey village under Lumbajong Block.
Addressing media persons, DC Phangchopi stated that the initiative, under the Government of India’s directive, is being implemented by the Karbi Anglong District Administration in collaboration with agencies operating under the 6th Schedule of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
She emphasized that Abha Abhijan aims to ensure inclusive empowerment of tribal communities by delivering the benefits of central government schemes directly to their doorsteps.
The campaign will raise awareness and facilitate access to key schemes and services such as:
Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), issuance of Caste and Domicile Certificates, Kisan Credit Cards, Jan Dhan Accounts and other welfare schemes targeting tribal upliftment.
The DC highlighted that special outreach efforts will be made in remote tribal villages, ensuring no eligible beneficiary is left out. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering citizen-centric governance in the region.
