JORHAT, Feb 23: The Asom Sena has expressed resentment over name boards erected by NHIDCL bearing incorrect names of places at different areas of National Highway 715 in Jorhat district, where construction works for four-laning the highway have been underway for several years.
A delegation of Asom Sena, led by central committee chief convener Bijoy Shankar Bordoloi, submitted a memorandum to NHIDCL authorities on Thursday, seeking corrections to be made on the name boards installed by the Central Government agency (NHIDCL) along National Highway 715, where names of places have been wrongly mentioned.
The memorandum requests that the rectification of the boards be done within the next 15 days. The delegation included the chief convener of the Jorhat district unit of Asom Sena, Arup Puzari, and Niharika Saikia, Raktim Ranjan Bora, Sankalpa Gogoi, and Riyaz Hussain, all leaders of state and district sub-divisional units of AASU.
