Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Sarma reviews progress of development projects in BTR

KOKRAJHAR, May 7: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur, on Wednesday to assess the ongoing development initiatives in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The meeting focused on evaluating the implementation status of various government schemes and infrastructure projects aimed at boosting regional development and enhancing the quality of life for the people in the region.

Bodoland Territorial Region Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, BTC Principal Secretary Akashdeep, and several senior state government officials were present at the meeting.

The session served as a platform for detailed deliberation on key developmental challenges and opportunities in the region.

The meeting covered a wide range of issues, including the need to strengthen administrative mechanisms to ensure efficient governance and delivery of public services.

Emphasis was made on fostering better inter-departmental coordination to eliminate bureaucratic delays and streamline the implementation process of developmental projects.

One of the central agendas of the meeting was the on-ground execution of various flagship schemes launched by the government.

Officials reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects related to road connectivity, healthcare, education, and livelihood enhancement.

Special attention was given to initiatives that aim to uplift socio-economic conditions and bring marginalized communities into the mainstream.

Discussions also included exploring actionable strategies to ensure that government entitlements and services reach beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner.

The Chief Minister urged officials to prioritize responsive governance and work collaboratively across departments to fast-track development in the region.

Speaking after the meeting, CEM Pramod Boro expressed optimism about the region’s developmental trajectory.

“I am delighted to have attended a high-level review meeting under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur, to assess the progress of development initiatives in the Bodoland Territorial Region. The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening administrative mechanisms and ensuring seamless coordination between departments,” Boro said.

He further added, “Under the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s leadership, we remain committed to the holistic development of BTR and Assam. We are confident that the region will witness accelerated growth and transformation through continued focus and timely execution of government initiatives.”

The review meeting underscored the state government’s resolve to bring about inclusive growth and sustainable development in BTR, while addressing local aspirations and challenges through targeted policy measures and collaborative governance.
