GUWAHATI, Dec 13: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya condoled the demise of former Advisor Education to the Government of Assam and former vice chancellor, Tezpur University, Prof Mihir Kanti Choudhury who breathed his last in a city hospital on Friday.
In a statement, Acharya said, “I am deeply saddened to know the sudden death of Prof. Mihir Kanti Choudhury”. As an academic he was par excellence and contributed immensely to the growth of higher education in Assam. He was also a good human being and apart from taking crucial role in stimulating intellectually imbued minds of the state, he helped his students to become virtuous human beings. His untimely departure is a great loss to the state and country.
The Governor expressed his profound condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.
