Guwahati, March 6: A skeleton was found near Chhaygaon in south Kamrup on Thursday, drawing local attention. Witnesses reported the remains were discovered inside the culvert of the Kamakhya-Jogighopa broad gauge rail track.
Based on its condition, authorities believe the skeleton is male and was likely left at the site about a year ago, sparking interest across the Chhaygaon area. Local authorities have begun further investigations.

Sources indicate that the skeleton was found in the new slum under ward no. 1 of East Lumding village panchayat, inside a crowded hut belonging to Shanti Chetry. Chetry found the skeletal remains during a visit to tether a goat.
