NAGAON, May 18: The Nagaon-Kolongpar Unit of the Assam Science Society, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Nowgong College (Autonomous), organized an awareness programme on the “Application of Digital Platforms for Dissemination of Science” at Chapanala Higher Secondary School on Saturday.
The initiative was sponsored by the Assam Science Society under its “Popularization of Science in Villages of Assam” programme, aimed at promoting scientific temper and digital literacy among rural students.
The event commenced with an introduction by Dr. Bhuban Ch. Chutia, President of the Nagaon-Kolongpar Unit, Assam Science Society. Parul Gayan, Principal of Chapanala HS School, warmly welcomed the resource person, guests, and participants.
Lalit Mohan Goswami, Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, Nowgong College (Autonomous), served as the resource person. In his presentation, Goswami discussed a range of digital platforms currently used to effectively disseminate scientific knowledge. He emphasized the growing importance of technology in the teaching and learning of science, demonstrating how these tools make science more accessible and engaging.
Goswami encouraged educators to adopt digital tools and techniques in their classrooms to enhance science education and inspire curiosity among students.
The programme saw active participation from teachers of Chapanala HS School, neighboring institutions, and members of the Assam Science Society. Over 300 students attended the event, according to a press release issued by the organisers.
