Biker attacked by pillion rider in Jorhat

JORHAT, Nov 13: In a shocking incident on Tuesday night, Prasenjit Baruah, 40, narrowly survived a throat-slashing attack by a pillion rider he had offered a lift to in Solmara, under Pulibor Police Station. The accused, identified as Mohen Nayak from Meleng, allegedly attacked Baruah from behind with a sickle after traveling a short distance.

Baruah’s cries for help alerted nearby locals, who quickly intervened, detaining Nayak until police arrived. The victim is now receiving treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). 

Police have registered Pulibor PS Case No 155/24 under Sections 118(2)/109 of the BNS, and a full investigation is underway.
