Bodo Sahitya Sabha Conference Begins At Tamulpur

KOKRAJHAR, May 2: The 61st annual delegate of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) began from Monday with a scheduled three-day colourful programme being held at Gwjwn Fwthar, Kachubari of Tamulpur district.

As part of the programme, on the first day of the conference, chairman of the reception committee of the conference and Bodoland Territorial Region executive member Dharna Narayan Das inaugurated the late Ashina Basumatary memorial main gate, Assam state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita inaugurated the late Santiswar Brahma and late Sonraran Boro memorial guest house, BTC Legislative Assembly speaker Katiram Boro inaugurated the late Sunil Kumar Boro memorial main pandal and social activist Parul Bharali Boro inaugurated the late Halodhar Ujir and late Maneswar Boro memorial exhibition complex.

Hundreds of delegates from different districts of the state of Assam, apart from neighbouring states including Meghalaya, West Bengal as well as from the neighbouring country are participating in the event.

The conference venue has been designed with welcome messages highlighting the unity and tranquility existing in the society that mark the bond of unity in the state.

Hundreds of volunteers have been deployed to maintain smooth success of the conference with disciplines.

Chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in the Bodo Sahitya Sabha conference venue at Kachubari Tamulpur on Monday and met members of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and reception committee.

He took stock of the preparation and arrangements ahead of the visit of President of India, Ram Nath Kovind on 4th May, 2022 to the Open Session of the annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha.

Dr Sarma has also held a review meeting with senior officials of the Tamulpur district administration and police administration and took stock of the preparation and arrangements.

Dr Sarma said that he had visited the conference venue to take stock about the preparation and arrangements.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the Tamulpur conference is a historic event as President Ram Nath Kovind is attending as the chief guest.

“We are very lucky to have Rashtrapati Kovind gracing the annual session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha”, Boro said.

He urged all sections of the society to be part of the conference to make it a grand success.

Assam Assembly speaker Biswajit Daimary, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Assam state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Taren Boro were prominent attendees on the occasion.

On Monday evening, the first delegate session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha was chaired by Taren Boro.
