Bodo Sahitya Sabha’s 64th annual conference begins

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 9: The 64th annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha commenced from Thursday held at the Dwimu Nwgwr, Dimakuchi in Udalguri district with a four day colourful programme scheduled.

The grand event would be marking the celebration of Bodo language and literature that will showcase multi community cultural demonstration, various activities across the state.

The conference features a variety of programmes, including discussions, literary events, and cultural exchanges, aimed at celebrating the rich heritage of Bodo literature and promoting the language across the country as well as globe.

The event has drawn participants from across Assam and neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, states of India, namely, West Bengal, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh etc, with scholars, writers, and cultural enthusiasts coming together to share ideas and insights.

The session is expected to strengthen efforts towards preserving and advancing the Bodo language and culture.

The first day of the conference witnesses various inauguration of the main gate, main pandal, volunteers camp, seminar hall, delegate hall, guest reception hall etc.

The exhibition venue of the ongoing conference saw a huge thronging of the visitors from the districts of the region.

Chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma will grace the open session of the conference to be held on January 12 as the chief guest.

Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, several cabinet ministers of the state, alongwith many distinguished dignitaries will grace the event on the concluding day.

President of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dr Surath Narzary told that the annual conference has begun with four day program scheduled at Dwimu Nwgwr in Udalguri.

He stated that the reception committee and the Sahitya Sabha have made its necessary arrangement and preparations to accord warm welcome to the delegates and invited guests for the conference.

He mentioned that the session will witness various sessions including seminar, group discussions, and felicitations.

He said that till this evening, several hundred delegates and observers have arrived at the conference venue.
